Nasuni Continues Record Growth in Q2
July 18, 2013
Bookings Grew 135 Percent Over the Same Period in 2012; More than Doubled Storage Under Management
NATICK, Mass. – July 18, 2013 – Nasuni®, a provider of enterprise storage to large, distributed organizations, today announced that the company’s rapid growth continued unabated in the second quarter of 2013, with bookings growing 135 percent and storage under management more than doubling over the same period in 2012.
“This quarter, we took a giant leap forward in storage management,” said Andres Rodriguez, CEO of Nasuni. “With the rollout of the Nasuni Management Console (NMC), all Nasuni customers can now manage all their enterprise data from a single view without having to manage the underlying hardware. Our customers are taking advantage of NMC at an incredible rate, and in the last quarter have added an unprecedented amount of storage to the Nasuni service. This kind of growth is highlighting the trend of companies who wish to consume storage as a service – not a hardware investment.”
Other highlights from Q2 include:
- More TB of storage under management were added in Q2 than had been added in the three previous quarters combined;
- Total storage under management grew by 37 percent in the quarter
- 144 percent bookings growth in the first half of 2013 compared to the first half of 2012
- 1H bookings were just shy of matching total bookings for all of 2012
“Nasuni enables our customers to centralize and manage storage that was essentially unmanageable before,” said Dave van Leeuwen, Capital District Area Manager of Advistor, Inc. “The addition of NMC speaks to Nasuni’s focus on solving the storage challenges of the distributed enterprise. It’s not surprising to see them growing so rapidly – they are committed to changing the traditional view of hardware-based storage and customers are buying in. Whether solving a remote backup problem or a capacity scaling issue, Nasuni is leading the charge with a new breed of storage service and functionality.”
Nasuni’s launch of NMC was a true first for the storage industry – a management console that allows customers to control and manage their data directly without relying on inconsistent hardware controllers. By freeing data from the underlying hardware, companies can manage access rights, set data protection policies, and perform a full DR in less than 15 minutes all from one interface. Brian Garrett from ESG Labs compared using NMC to an iPhone, saying: “[NMC] is amazingly fast and easy to deploy and monitor distributed enterprise-class storage services for users located around the globe from a single pane of glass.”
Nasuni’s continued success has led to the opening of a second office in downtown Boston. This location represents a footprint for expansion of sales and marketing efforts and has seen the team grow by more than 50% in the last quarter alone. In addition to growing in the Boston area, Nasuni continues to add local sales representatives throughout the country.
