As file environments grow more complex, staying ahead requires better visibility, tighter security, and seamless access. This release introduces upgrades across analytics, web access, and cloud integration expansion to help IT teams do more with greater efficiency.

What’s New?

  • File IQ Premium: The latest release of File IQ Premium delivers a major leap forward in visibility and intelligence for your Nasuni file data. New advanced filtering accelerates IT response, making it easier to pinpoint exactly what you are looking for. Fresh dashboards like the new Files Modified / Last Access views, and reports like Duplicate and Orphaned Files, unlock deeper insights into file activity and storage trends to help control costs.
  • Advanced Web Access – Single Sign-On (SSO) and Local Editing: Nasuni Web Access now includes two key enhancements that improve security, usability, and productivity. Single Sign-On (SSO) support allows organizations to streamline authentication by integrating Web Access with Microsoft Entra ID or Okta, reducing user friction while strengthening security. In addition, the new local editing capability enables users to open files directly in local desktop applications, such as Microsoft Office, from within Web Access. After editing, changes are automatically saved back to Nasuni.
  • Oracle Cloud: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Object Storage: Nasuni now supports seamless integration with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Object Storage via the Nasuni Amazon S3 connector, unlocking highly durable and scalable cloud storage for your enterprise content.
  • Advanced Global File Locking (AGFL) Read Opportunistic Locking: We have optimized the system’s handling of file locking requests to significantly improve performance when multiple users access files under GFL, especially in collaborative environments such as engineering and design workflows. The optimization results in reduced latency and faster file opening, particularly for read-only access to frequently used files.

Additional Enhancements

  • Enhanced Multiprotocol File Access with NTFS Permissions: Introducing a new volume permissions policy with comprehensive multiprotocol file access that uses NTFS permissions as the authoritative security model for both SMB and NFS clients. This provides SMB clients with full permissions flexibility while delivering more robust security for NFS access than traditional POSIX permissions.
  • Increased Cache Size Maximum for Nasuni Edge Appliance Deployments: Nasuni has increased the maximum cache size limit from 36 TiB to 400 TiB (439 TB) (439 TB) for all Nasuni Edge Appliance deployments. The backing storage drives for any deployments above 36 TiB must be from performant storage (SSD or better). This cache capacity increase allows for more flexible configurations in the field and provides opportunities to hold more cached data local to clients, allowing for better overall end-user experience.

Should You Care?

These updates deliver greater flexibility, improved performance, and enhanced security across your file environment. And with expanded support for additional cloud infrastructure options, you now have even more choice in how you architect and scale your hybrid cloud strategy.
