As IT environments grow more complex and distributed, the need for a modern, resilient, and high-performing data platform becomes critical. At Nasuni, we are committed to helping IT leaders stay ahead of change by continuously evolving our products. This blog highlights recent innovations in infrastructure, performance, insights, and security, designed to reduce operational overhead, improve user experience, and strengthen data resilience.
What’s New?
- File IQ: We are excited to introduce File IQ Premium enabling you to understand your data better and be AI-ready. Premium File IQ provides purpose-built reports that customers can readily consume to keep up with file system changes on a regular basis. Read our recent PR announcement and our We have also extended our capabilities to File IQ that will enable you to enforce enhanced security, monitor the health of your File IQ appliance, and facilitate disaster recovery.
- Ops IQ: Ops IQ is a powerful new observability service provided by Nasuni, empowering users with purpose-built interactive dashboards that provide critical insights for deep understanding of system behavior and operational health of their entire Nasuni environment. Read more on our blog.
- Nasuni Data Services: Introducing Nasuni Data Service. Nasuni Data Service exposes cloud-native file data via secure, read-only APIs without requiring access to edge appliances or data duplication. It enables direct integration with AI, analytics, and compliance tools, turning unstructured file data into an accessible, real-time asset for modern data pipelines.
- Nasuni Portal: Introducing the updated Nasuni Portal. Nasuni portal establishes a foundation for a single pane of glass management, with powerful new features designed to enhance security, streamline customers’ experience, and enable new APIs for automation and Integration.
- Enhanced Ransomware Protection with Username-Based Blocking: Ransomware Protection now supports blocking malicious activity at the user level with username-based blocking. This enhancement helps stop compromised user accounts from continuing unauthorized actions, even if the attacker switches devices or IP addresses.
- Highly Available (HA) Edge: We are beginning our journey toward high availability at the edge. The new HA Edge configuration deploys Nasuni Edge as an active-passive, shared-disk cluster. This setup ensures client access during service or infrastructure failures, maintenance, or upgrades, delivering greater resilience and operational continuity while reducing IT overhead.
Additional Enhancements
- Directory Faulting Performance: Directory faulting is now up to two times faster when fetching uncached directories from the object store. This enhancement significantly reduces thread contention, resulting in lower resource consumption and improving the responsiveness and resilience of the appliance during high-load or recovery operations.
- Hypervisor Support: We introduced support for Xen Virtual Environment (VE) (Release Notes) hypervisor, addressing a critical need for customers seeking cost-effective virtualization solutions. We are also offering general support for KVM-based hypervisors through a universal QCOW2 file format image enabling flexible deployments of the Nasuni Edge Appliance (NEA) and the Nasuni Management Console (NMC) across a broad range of KVM environments.
