Nasuni caught up with Marta Wilczynska, Regional Sales Manager (DACH), to talk about her role in Nasuni’s international expansion and how she approaches her work.

With previous career experience spanning across global tech brands and high-growth startups, Marta joined Nasuni early in 2025 to lead net-new sales across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Drawing on an impressive track record of empowering customers to navigate infrastructure change with confidence, she’s already making waves in the global effort of raising Nasuni’s profile and opening new minds to a hybrid cloud future.

Q: What does your role at Nasuni involve?

I’m a regional sales manager for net-new customers, which means that any prospect that doesn’t yet know about Nasuni is my responsibility. I look after Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, which is perfect for me because I’m based in southern Germany so I can get to all three countries easily. My role involves a mixture of headhunting, establishing strategies for getting into bigger accounts, and positioning Nasuni as the go-to choice for customers who are considering taking their unstructured data over from traditional IP into hybrid cloud.

Q: How did Nasuni first appear on your radar?

My first contact with Nasuni was through a headhunter I’d almost given up on! He would get in touch with a new opportunity every few months, but never had anything that really interested me. Then, back in December, he came to me with Nasuni and said, “No, you really have to look at this one.” I finally agreed, and that’s how the conversation started. Hearing about what Nasuni offers to customers just blew my mind. And talking to people who work at Nasuni and learning how long they’ve all been here got me even more interested. I had nine interviews within two weeks and everybody was pushing very hard to get me on board. Obviously they did a good job because I’m here!

Q: Can you tell me more about your approach to sales?

The key to positioning anything is to understand where the customer is at the point in time that you’re speaking to them. Next you ask questions about where they want to get to, and then you help them connect the dots.

Sometimes that involves challenging them, and showing them why the approach they’ve taken in the past won’t work in the future — especially if they want to make changes in their business.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I leave them to digest. We have a very simple approach at Nasuni and people often think that if something is simple then it can’t be real. So, I give them time to understand how well the product works.

Q: How do you manage to preserve teamwork while working remotely?

It honestly overwhelms me how well the team works together. That’s something I was missing in my previous company, but teamwork is right at the top of Nasuni’s values. They arrange for us to meet as a team every two weeks in the Munich office, which is very valuable because we get so much done in those few hours together. The immediate leadership also tries to meet as often as we can as a team, so I’ve already been to London twice in four months. It’s been great!

Even the team across the pond beyond who is here in EMEA and DACH is incredible. Everybody’s super helpful, very open, and direct, which is essential to avoiding misunderstandings when working remotely.

Q: What projects have you spearheaded since joining the team?

I try to take a proactive and collaborative approach to my work. In the very first QBR I attended after joining, we were asked to identify areas that we wanted to improve. I took TOFU, or top of the funnel, which is anything that contributes to more revenue, more customers, or more partners.

I felt that we needed to become more visible, so I arranged a live webinar. It was moderated and I was one of the speakers. Not pre-recording it was a challenge, but it was so successful that I’m now organizing another webinar with a different team.

In three weeks time, I’m speaking at the local event here in my town. It’s a panel discussion about AI and general data availability that I was invited to through contacts at the Chamber of Commerce. It’s been a busy few months — just the way I like it.

Q: Nasuni’s been gaining momentum in DACH. What do you think is contributing to that growth?

Just 17 years ago, “cloud” was still a very abstract concept and a cloud-first approach was often seen as a bold or even risky decision. It was only when I was working for my previous company that cloud started to be viewed with more interest. In the last two or three years, because of market conditions and the move to remote work during COVID, companies are waking up to the fact that being wholly dependent on on-premise infrastructure will restrict their growth. Today, organizations realize that they can’t grow, scale, or be truly flexible by just doing the same thing that they’ve done for the past 30 years. Nasuni is capitalizing on that because they combine the best of both worlds and show customers the path to flexibility, scalability, and reduced costs.

Q: Do you think there is such a thing as a typical Nasuni employee?

They all have one thing in common: they love the product. You can hear that in every conversation. They’re uncomplicated — easygoing but respectful and very conscientious about how they do their work. They’re super smart people who know exactly what they’re doing. And they love to talk about how they help their customers.

Q: To help people get to know you better, can you tell us what you enjoy doing outside of work?

My biggest passion is cooking. If I wasn’t working at Nasuni, I’d probably be a chef! I especially love cooking for friends — I often have people over, so my cellar is well-stocked with wine and my fridge is always full of cold drinks. You’re welcome anytime; there will always be something to eat and something to sip. I even have a vintage bell in my lounge that says, “Ring for champagne!”

To keep a good work-life balance, I also enjoy running in the mornings before work. It helps me clear my head and start the day with energy.
