Overcoming The Data Deluge [Infographic]

You’ve heard it before: data is growing at an exponential rate. This isn’t news to most individuals in the IT space, but the extent at which all this data is growing is simply astounding. It is predicted that by the year 2020 we will have seen a 4,300 percent increase in annual data generation. Not only are devices, applications and users storing more data – we don’t want to delete any of it.

The good news is there are emerging enterprise storage technologies that help alleviate the burden of managing all this data. In the following infographic we dive into the data – where it lives, what we’re storing and the new storage tech that is helping IT deal with the exponential growth. Are you experiencing the same levels of data growth in your organization? How are you dealing with the deluge? Sound off in the comments and let us know!

Lots of great data. Have you seen anything on the % of data which is stored in the cloud today vs. on-prem? Is it in this infographic and I missed it? 😉

    • Thanks Maureen! I haven’t come across that figure in my research, but given the velocity at which the public cloud market is growing, I would imagine it will begin to have a measurable impact very soon. I’ll keep an eye out for some hard numbers and hopefully include them in a future infographic.
