Nasuni Names Bill Simpson as Vice President of Worldwide Sales

The Company Commits to a Channel Focus by Expanding Its Management Team with Simpson, a Channel and Sales Veteran with More than 20 Years of Technology Experience

NATICK, Mass. – June 20, 2011 – Nasuni® today announced that it has further expanded its management team with the addition of Bill Simpson as the company’s Vice President of Worldwide Sales. This latest expansion follows Nasuni’s April announcement of the launch of their partner program, and also comes as Nasuni continues to see rapid adoption of its data protection storage solution, the Nasuni Filer, in a wide variety of vertical markets, including manufacturing, engineering and architecture, law, education and healthcare.

Simpson brings more than twenty years of technology sales experience to Nasuni, much of which he has spent building strong channel and sales organizations for young, fast growing technology companies. He was named a CRN Channel Chief in 2009 and 2010, an award that recognizes outstanding achievement in leading partner programs. In addition, channel programs that he led from 2008, 2009 and 2010 each won the highest rating, a five star certification, from Everything Channel’s Partner Program Guides.

“I feel most in my element when I’m working to build partner programs and sales organizations for technology companies like Nasuni that are taking new technologies and transforming them into products and services that offer tangible business value,” Simpson said.  “Nasuni, in particular, offers a great opportunity to reseller partners, because it gives them an easy-to-use solution that enables their customers to quickly start taking advantage of the power of cloud storage. Nasuni offers partners a chance to enhance their existing storage, disaster recovery and data protection services portfolio with an offering that is already validated by market adoption.”

Immediately prior to joining Nasuni, Simpson served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Akorri, a storage and virtualization management company that was acquired by NetApp earlier this year. Prior to Akorri, Simpson was Vice President of Global Channel Sales and Strategy at Virtual Iron Software, a virtualization and virtual infrastructure management company that was bought by Oracle.

“The addition of a well-respected channel veteran like Bill Simpson to the executive team is a strong signal to us that Nasuni is serious about the channel and accelerating its customer acquisition strategy,” said Kirsten Ward, Founder and Managing Partner at BATTEN LLC. “Having worked with companies like Microsoft and tailoring routes-to-market for a variety of technology companies, we can tell that Nasuni is committed to enabling solution providers to offer end customers the services they are asking for, such as simple, secure cloud storage services. With Bill’s arrival, it’s clear that Nasuni is expanding their reach and voice in the market.”

“At Nasuni, we are absolutely committed to making the power of cloud storage easily accessible to mid-sized enterprises,” said Andres Rodriguez, CEO of Nasuni. “We promise customers end-to-end reliability by not only testing the Nasuni Filer, but also by testing the cloud storage providers so that customers can feel comfortable entrusting their most important data to us. It’s a message that’s strongly resonating with a wide array of organizations, and we’re glad to welcome Bill, who will build out our global partner program and sales organization to respond to that demand.”

About Nasuni
Nasuni was founded in 2009 by storage veterans to deliver a secure gateway to cloud storage that makes the cloud feasible for business users. The Nasuni Filer is a virtual NAS file server that runs on VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix XenServer and leverages the resources of the cloud to simplify file storage and protection. Targeting the mid-market, Nasuni’s solution eliminates the need for incremental storage hardware and the resulting capital expense to manage unstructured file growth.
