Nasuni and the International Legal Technology Association Invite IT Professionals to Learn How to Manage the Data Explosion

Luncheons Will Reveal how Legal IT Departments Can Effectively Address the Storage Challenges That Arise in Daily Operations and Litigation Support

Nasuni LogoNATICK, Mass. – May 2, 2012 – Nasuni®, a provider of enterprise storage to large, distributed organizations, announced today that its CEO, Andres Rodriguez, will present a series of complimentary luncheons in conjunction with the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA).  The luncheons, held at ILTA member law firms in May and June will explore the many challenges that arise as law firms and corporate counsel work to securely store and share an ever-increasing volume of electronically stored information (ESI).

“IT professionals know how important it is for users to enjoy fast, easy and secure access to the files they need, whether it’s from a remote branch office or at a client’s site,” said Matt Donehoo, director of information systems at Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney, a rapidly growing law firm with seven U.S. offices.  “In the legal profession the stakes are even higher. You may need three terabytes of storage one moment and, when a new case arrives, 30 terabytes the next. Law firms need the ability to scale rapidly and share data with attorneys in numerous locations. It is even more important when talking about cloud storage that all ESI is managed in a way that ensures its absolute defensibility in a court of law.  Anyone who is facing these challenges will find the luncheons of great value.”

Rodriguez, who co-founded Nasuni with its president, Robert S. Mason, Jr., previously founded Archivas, an enterprise storage company acquired by Hitachi Data Systems in 2006. Rodriguez also served as the CTO at The New York Times.

In the luncheons, Rodriguez will explore what the explosion of ESI means for legal IT professionals, and how Nasuni’s storage services enable them to absorb and manage large amounts of data on-demand. In addition, Rodriguez will discuss the security challenges associated with litigation support, e-discovery, document management systems and user shares and how to deliver full access to enterprise-wide data from remote and branch offices.  Rodriguez will also discuss the very real dangers that arise when electronic evidence is shared or stored ineffectively.

All interested legal and technology professionals are invited to attend the luncheons free of charge.  Luncheons occurring this month include:

“Addressing Legal IT Storage Pains” luncheons will also be held in Boston, Philadelphia and Stanford, Conn. Details will be posted on Nasuni’s website at http://www.nasuni.com/news/events in the coming weeks. In addition, Nasuni will exhibit at ILTA’s Insight 2012, May 8-9, 2012 in London and at LegalTech West Coast 2012, May 22-23, 2012 in Los Angeles.

“The legal industry arguably has the most to gain by effectively harnessing the raw storage capacity of the cloud, and the most to lose if not done with rigorous security policies,” said Rodriguez.  “Our storage enables law firms to achieve a true ‘global share’ for files and enjoy the elasticity of the cloud with the performance and security of a local NAS.  Our security and access policies are the most stringent in the industry – something that resonates strongly with our legal customers.”
