Coming on the heels of winning Microsoft’s Global Azure ISV of the Year Award, Nasuni has been named to the 20 Most Promising Storage Solution Providers 2017 list by CIOReview. The publication cites Nasuni as one of the vendors poised to benefit from storage industry transformation caused by the rapid adoption of technologies such as IoT, cloud, and mobility.
We’re excited to share this recognition with other leading vendors on the list. We’re certainly in great company with Dell, Fujitsu, HPE, Hitachi Data Systems, IBM, NetApp, and Nimble Storage! Nasuni, however, is a “new breed” of storage technology provider. Our global file system innovation that lives in the cloud is pure software. And our subscription (SaaS) licensing model doesn’t require the heavy up-front CapEx spend required by typical hardware and perpetual license software models. Not surprisingly, we share this new model designed for the “cloud era” with our cloud object storage partners – Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud Object Storage, and Dell EMC ECS.
Here are a few of our favorite excerpts from the CIOReview story:
“Unstructured file data is growing faster than ever, outpacing structured block data by a factor of 10. Businesses can’t keep up. ‘The traditional way of buying on-premises Network Attached Storage (NAS) for primary and archive storage; backing it up, and then duplicating the whole thing for disaster recovery, doesn’t scale,’ says Andres Rodriguez, CEO, Nasuni.”
“The Nasuni platform enables enterprises to refresh aging NAS infrastructure, achieve new levels of cross-site collaboration, run analytics to extract more value from long-term file storage, and benefit from the new era of Internet-connected machines. At the heart of the platform is Nasuni UniFS, the world’s first global file system designed to ‘live’ in the cloud. ‘This is where our unlimited scalability comes from,’ adds the CEO. Nasuni offers unlimited primary NAS and archive storage capacity, backup, file access and collaboration, DR, and centralized management, all in one consolidated, pay-as-you-grow solution.”
“Setting Nasuni apart from other vendors in the market, says Rodriguez, is that Nasuni is the first cloud-native solution that starts with the cloud, uses the object store as the gold master, and pushes files to the edge, which is much harder to engineer than competing solutions that use on-premises devices to store gold masters and simply use the cloud for backup. With Nasuni UniFS as the innovation behind a unified set of file services that offers unlimited capacity, improved recovery points and recovery times, global file access and collaboration, DR without the need for dedicated DR sites, and simple management—Nasuni is one of IT’s best new weapons in the battle for file storage scalability.”
