Chief Technology Officer
Russell Neufeld oversees ongoing and future technology development and manages Nasuni’s technical relationship with the public cloud providers. He has more than a dozen years of experience in the storage industry.
An experienced developer, Russell began his career working on compilers at IBM. His early interest in Java led him to Cambridge startup Natural Intelligence and later Microsoft, where he worked on Java compilers and virtual machines. At Abuzz, and then the New York Times, he helped build some of the first scalable, customer-focused web applications, eventually leading a key development team. Since 2003, Russell has been working in the storage industry, first at HDS Archivas, then on to Nasuni in 2009. Drawing in part on his experience building scalable web apps, Russell has been instrumental in the design and implementation of the Nasuni Operations Center (NOC), the global lock server and other back-end services that make Nasuni a seamless and simple experience for both IT and end users.
One of the stand-up desk pioneers at Nasuni, Russell is also a dedicated runner, even in the icy New England winters. A daily practitioner of meditation and the father of two boys, he has a BS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
