Nasuni seamlessly integrates the world’s first cloud-native global file system, on-premises edge appliances, Web-based management, mobile device access, and cloud monitoring into a unified platform that solves the enterprise file storage challenge.
UniFS is a cloud-native global file system that becomes your authoritative namespace, storing “gold copies” of all files, file versions, and metadata in your preferred private or public cloud object store. Unlike legacy file systems that reside within physical devices, and are therefore constrained by physical device limitations, UniFS is the first file system designed to have its inode structure reside in the cloud. This makes UniFS as scalable as the cloud itself, and enables the Nasuni platform to inherit the virtually unlimited capacity, durability, and georedundancy of the cloud object stores.
Nasuni Edge Appliances securely transmit all files instantly to your preferred private or public cloud object storage using customer-owned encryption keys, while caching the subset of active files locally for high performance access. Whether you deploy virtual appliances using your existing infrastructure or hardware appliances supplied by Nasuni, users will enjoy the same fast, secure access to files they are accustomed to with traditional file servers or NAS.
The edge appliances are stateless; any number can be deployed to meet business requirements, and multiple appliances can mount the same UniFS volumes. They present shares via standard file sharing protocols (SMB/CIFS, NFS) and integrate with Active Directory and LDAP to leverage existing authentication and access policies.
This on-premises management console provides single pane of glass management for all your file storage, enabling you to control and monitor Nasuni Edge Appliances, file shares, and protocols through a standard web browser. Role-based access control allows for delegated management in large IT organizations.
This Nasuni cloud service monitors cloud object stores and Nasuni Edge Appliances to ensure availability. Nasuni Operations Center also captures metrics to optimize performance, controls global lock to support collaboration without file conflicts, and tracks and reports on Nasuni accounts and licensing. The service is monitored by Nasuni’s world-class support team to identify and resolve issues before they impact production environments.
Consisting of iOS and Android apps and an easy-to-use web browser interface, Nasuni Mobile ensure files are available anytime, anywhere, through any device.
