What a Six Month Internship at Nasuni Taught Me

June 21, 2018 | Guest Blogger What a Six Month Internship at Nasuni Taught Me

As a sophomore at Northeastern University, I was given, by way of Northeastern’s co-op program, the opportunity to work a six month internship as a Digital Marketing Coordinator at Nasuni.

The community at Nasuni was incredibly welcoming when I joined the team. I was treated to an amazing lunch at Babbo’s with my new marketing team to celebrate my on-boarding, as is tradition at Nasuni. My coworkers and superiors were very friendly and I genuinely enjoyed working with them. A shared trait among them has decidedly been their focus on making sure I learn and understand the importance of all of my responsibilities. Whether I was learning how to improve website SEO or operate tools such as Hubspot and Final Cut Pro X, I never felt uncomfortable with being able to ask questions.

Along with learning many skills and tools, I was allowed a considerable amount of autonomy. My daily responsibilities were ever-changing with the common theme of scheduling and monitoring social media posts as well as editing photos and videos. However, I was not limited to just that – different tasks arose every day that I handled. These tasks ranged from conducting market research and optimizing webpages for certain keywords to single-handedly recording and editing Nasuni training videos which were used for the company’s learning management platform. I’d also been given opportunities to create my own projects, one of which is this very blog post.

My advice for any prospective intern is to do your research and ask as many questions as you can. In Nasuni’s fast, dynamic environment it can be easy to get overwhelmed — especially if you’re new to the industry. Keeping an open mind and positive attitude can make miles out of meters.

The experience Nasuni gave me is something I will always be grateful for. From the big things, like gaining hard skills in prominent software and a location overlooking Boston Harbor, to the small things, like free coffee and snacks, I’d be hard-pressed to find a better internship in this line of business. I highly recommend this position with Nasuni to anyone seeking to enter the world of digital marketing.
