Often when you work at a technology company for long enough, you become so close to what you’re doing that you lose sight of whether other people actually understand what you’re building and how it works. This is often referred to as the ‘center of the universe’ problem. As a new member of the leadership team, I see the platform through a different lens, and in this post I’d like to roll back the conversation to the technical basics, or what makes Nasuni different and why.

I’m excited to announce that Pete Agresta has joined Nasuni as our first ever Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) joining an already incredible management team. As we kick off 2023, I’m humbled to lead a go-to-market team that continues to achieve extraordinary business milestones — recently passing the $100m ARR financial milestone – to the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the market – to amazing internal employee satisfaction survey results.

This past year was a good one to switch to Nasuni from legacy NAS and file servers and we welcomed many new customers upgrading to our cloud platform for a variety of reasons. Some realized that the traditional file server is the IT equivalent of a fax machine. Others needed to migrate off StorSimple into a future-proof solution. A number of organizations had deployed supposedly cloud-scale solutions only to discover far more limitations and headaches than they'd expected. As you’d expect, data security and ransomware were a huge driver of new business for us as well — the continued threat has made it a priority for large enterprises.

Back in September, when a Wall Street Journal article announced the unexpected return of the cubicle, the story surprised a few people. For those of us who work in Human Resources, though, this was just the latest in a string of surprising and sometimes contradictory data points. One thing we do know: The workplace is changing. According to Gartner, two-thirds of organizations are opting for a hybrid work model.

A ransomware attack can be absolutely debilitating to a company. Fortunately for all stakeholders, new, better ransomware mitigation solutions are proving themselves in the field. Cloud insiders, industry analysts, noted journalists, and IT leaders and executives from some of our most innovative customers covered everything from cyber resilience and data intelligence to anywhere access and cloud portability.

Ransomware prevention has been discussed over the last few years, but in reality, that’s just not enough. The human vector remains one of the most popular ways in for threat actors and organizations can’t do much to change that. What is needed is a multi-pronged approach to ransomware protection. Our customer success and professional services teams are winning awards, customer feedback has been stellar, and our European operation is growing rapidly. But I’m especially excited about what’s been happening in the energy sector.

Nasuni recently hosted Nasuni CloudBound22, a two-day virtual conference. The conference was about “Building Your File Data Cloud” such that the right people have continuous, timely, and convenient access to the right data from anywhere while protecting your organization’s data from all threats. Presenters acknowledged that the ideal of “Access your files from anywhere and protect them from anything” might not be fully attainable. Nevertheless, every business and IT leader that embraces these goals will enhance the performance of their business while reducing risks to the organization.

Our goal in global customer support and professional services is to deliver world-class service and industry-leading customer satisfaction. We’ll settle for nothing less. Recently, my colleagues have written about how Nasuni is on a tremendous run this year, from both a business and a product perspective, and I’m proud to announce that we’re surpassing our goals in customer service as well.

Nasuni has had a significant presence in Europe for many years now, but demand for our file data platform is rapidly expanding across the region as enterprises continue to shift away from network-attached storage and data protection technologies and modernize in the cloud. The rise of hybrid work models, the persistent threat of ransomware and the need for speed in today’s global business world are all accelerating adoption of Nasuni’s file data services platform, and we are seeing tremendous momentum in DACH.
