We were so excited because of the synergy between Google Cloud’ object storage and our unique object-based file storage platform. We knew that we were going to be able to offer the simplest, fastest and lowest cost cloud file storage in the market. Now 3 months later, we are delivering on that promise with a new game changing cloud offering. Nasuni Files for Google Cloud offers customers a simple monthly billed service that consolidates all NAS and file servers in the cloud. This delivers incredible durability, scale and cost savings compared to traditional hardware-based file storage or lift-and-shift cloud offerings. Customers can choose a complete cloud-native deployment or a hybrid cloud deployment with edge caching VMs. We are so sure this is the simplest solution in the market that we are offering free onboarding and migration services for the first 20TB moved to the cloud!
We already know that hardware-based NAS and Windows File Servers are not the future. I’ve written about how the pandemic forced enterprise IT to rethink hardware-based data centers and how they deliver files storage to their end users. The consolidation of physical data centers, the shrinking of the traditional headquarters office, and the shift to remote work – they’re all accelerating the move to the cloud. Not to mention the rise in ransomware and the fact that traditional backup solutions do not work for file servers.

Uniquely, Nasuni Edge VMs can be deployed in a hybrid cloud architecture or an all-cloud model, and there’s no charge for either VM option! Enterprises will pay a fraction of the cost of legacy file storage and less than competing cloud solutions, yet their end users will still enjoy LAN-speed file access. Eliminating separate backup and disaster recovery also drives additional savings.
- Scalability: I don’t need to convince you that Google understands scale, do I? Didn’t think so. The company has multiple services with a billion-plus users apiece. Nasuni dovetails with Google’s infinitely scalable cloud because it has none of the limitations of legacy Windows File Servers, such as hard limits on the number of files, file sizes, user connections, etc.
