Customer Story: Simplifying IT
When one of our new clients, a real estate firm here in Massachusetts, first approached us about the Nasuni Filer, they were considering moving their entire IT infrastructure to the cloud. They don’t have a dedicated IT person, so this shift to the cloud was tremendously appealing. They wouldn’t have to worry about adding or managing disks, expanding data centers, or any of the headaches that come with handling hardware.

Compressing Costs with OpenPGP
In previous posts we’ve discussed why we chose OpenPGP as the heart of Nasuni’s security framework. Security has been one of our primary concerns from the very start, and OpenPGP is one of the most widely used, vetted, discussed, and attacked encryption standards in the world. We detailed a few of its security benefits here and will dig even deeper in our forthcoming security white paper.

Customer Story: Simple, Secure Backup
The full version of the Filer has only been out for a month, but we are already seeing a wide range of use cases. Last week, we discussed a consulting firm that plans to use the Filer to quickly and inexpensively set up secure, high-performance offices in remote locations. We are also seeing plenty of interest from schools and universities.

Today we’re introducing another customer case study. In this example, we will focus on a small software development firm with roughly 20 employees. The company is moving quickly, generating a lot of data from different departments and a wide range of data types and sizes. Small Microsoft Word documents, presentations, multi-gigabyte machine images, fancy videos and more.

We have gone on at length about the Filer’s many features and strong security, but the appliance will also lead to considerable cost savings in the long run. The exact amounts will be different in each case, of course, so we thought we would detail one customer case study here, to give you an idea of how it works.
