Today we officially introduce Rackspace support for all our customers. With the latest version of the Nasuni Filer, paying customers can add an additional Rackspace Volume to their existing cloud volumes. Users in trial mode can create a trial Rackspace volume from the installation wizard.
Rackspace has one of the most price competitive offers in this market. We see this trend to compete on service levels and price as something that will continue to benefit our customers in the future. Rackspace, with their stronghold in hosting solutions and a formidable footprint of data centers, is already one of the strongest players in cloud storage.
The official launch of a new cloud provider like Rackspace marks the end of a long cycle of integration and testing. All of our partners pass a rigorous set of availability and data integrity tests that we continue to run indefinitely. We have been working with the team at Rackspace to ensure that account creation is automatic and completely secure for our customers. Each Nasuni customer receives his own Cloud credentials directly from Rackspace. We have also integrated all of the billing so that our customers will receive a consolidated bill from Nasuni.
Rackspace customers will now be able to use Cloud Files for their primary storage needs. The Nasuni Filer extends the use of the cloud beyond backup and file archiving. The promise of cloud storage goes well beyond the need to buy more local storage. Cloud storage has the potential to eliminate the intricacies of backup and having to manage multiple storage tiers.
We welcome Rackspace to what promises to be exciting times in storage. Stay tuned. More providers coming soon.
