Our group here at Nasuni is small, but capable of delivering complex solutions in short time frames. Given our size, we do require outside help, and we demand the same quick, effective turnarounds from our contractors and partners that we expect from our employees. These kind of people are not easy to find, but we have been lucky enough to enlist the services of a few stellar outsiders. They deserve proper thanks. So, here we go.
First up, Greg Newman, who runs Carbon8 studios. Greg is not only a fantastic designer — he is an amazing photographer and artist. He is also pretty well known in the Python and Django communities, contributing both paid and open source work.
Greg was the artistic and design lead for the user interface of the Filer. We brought him on in a crunch and he has consistently cranked out excellent designs, CSS, and imagery. He was wonderfully easy to work with—a critical attribute in these early days. According to Greg, he enjoyed the experience too: “Working on such an innovative product with the brilliant team at Nasuni is going down as a highlight of my decade-long freelance career.”
Next up is Lincoln Loop — a Web development firm based out of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Here at Nasuni, we are very much storage people. Putting together a website is not our specialty. Lincoln Loop designed and built our entire site, including the blog you are reading now. They have been instrumental in helping us hit our deadlines and put together a wonderful Web presence.
We touched base with Lincoln Loop Founder Peter Baumgartner, who had this to say: “We love working with Nasuni. They are a hands-on client who is passionate about their product and know what they want while still being receptive to new ideas. We're very excited for their public launch. They've got a great product and we wish them all the best.”
Lincoln Loop is also the key to the next implementation phase, which includes all of our simple-to-use and understand customer and VAR portals.
Last, but certainly not least: Revolution Systems (Revsys) — a Web application deployment, management, and systems administration firm. Revsys helped us build out an entire farm of machines to host all of our mission-critical back-end and website. Generally, they led us through the process of constructing an architecture that should last us a long time. “Nasuni has been a great client to work with,” said Frank Wiles of Revsys. “As someone who used to manage an IT department I truly wish Nasuni's Filer had existed back then. It would have easily knocked my stress level down a few points.”
Because of these three firms, we could focus on our core concern: building a next-generation storage solution. So, a special thanks to all of them.
We look forward to continuing our work with them in the coming months and years as we evolve and grow.
