We designed the Filer to be easy to use, from the simple-to-understand User Interface to automatic encryption. But we have also made an effort to extend this principle to the entire Nasuni experience, even the billing and payment process.
You will not find strange billing formats, inexplicable charges, or multiple bills. The Filer can deliver considerable cost savings in the long run, relative to SAN expansion, so we aim to be fully transparent when it comes to billing. Once per month, you will receive one invoice, and the balance on this invoice will be automatically charged to the credit card on file. The invoice requires no action – it is purely for your records. There will not be a separate, surprise invoice from the clouds – everything is included in that single Nasuni bill.
Currently, this invoice will be sent to you via email in PDF form, but we will soon be offering customers the option of receiving balance information via TXT. We also plan to give customers the ability to track trends in the amount of storage they’re using, monitor their costs over time, and more. These updates will appear on the My Account section of our website.
The monthly cost will be the sum of the Nasuni Filer usage fees for the coming month, if there are any, plus the cost of the cloud storage consumed in the previous month. The cloud fees are a function of average daily usage and the per/GB cost of the chosen provider(s). All of these details, such as how much you are paying per provider, will be broken down on the invoice.
Also, it is important to note that trial users who upgrade to paying customers will not be charged for the storage they used during the trial period. That is completely free.
If, after upgrading, you decide to maintain the volume you were using during the trial period, you will start incurring charges on that data, plus the accrued snapshots. To start completely fresh, we suggest deleting your trial volume entirely and starting a new one immediately after activating your subscription.
The Filer is designed to simplify file storage and protection, and we aim to keep billing, pricing, and administration simple, too. Please check our FAQ for more details or send us a note at feedback@nasuni.com, or call us at 508-651-0580 and press 2.
